Application Process
For Educators
At ICEA, we make the process of applying for teaching positions in U.S. school districts as seamless and transparent as possible. Below is a step-by-step guide on how to apply for opportunities through our agency, whether you're seeking a J1 Visa or H1B Visa sponsorship.
Start by visiting our Job Opportunities page to view current openings in U.S. school districts.
We list available positions, along with requirements and visa eligibility. Make sure you meet the minimum qualifications for the job you're interested in.
Before applying, please ensure you have the following documents ready:
- Application letter and Updated Resume/CV: Highlighting your teaching experience, certifications, and education.
- Teaching Certification: Proof of certification, valid in your home country or internationally recognized.
- Degree Transcripts: Official academic transcripts, including your degree in education or relevant field.
- Recommendation Letters: Three or more letters from previous employers or educational institutions.
- Proof of English Proficiency (if applicable): If English is not your first language, you may need to submit an English proficiency test score (TOEFL, IELTS, or similar).
Note: If you don’t have all of these documents yet, don’t worry. You can still start the application process and submit the missing items later.
Once your documents are prepared, complete the application form in this link https://forms.gle/NeX4YJtU9eZjAU1i8 and submit your application requirements via email to icea@avtelcom.com.
Please ensure all required documents are attached and that your email subject line follows this format:
Subject: [Your Name] – Application for [Position Title]
After we receive your application, we will review your qualifications and contact you if you're shortlisted for the next steps.
If you meet the qualifications for the position, the next step is obtaining a Foreign Credential
Evaluation (FCE). This process assesses the equivalency of your international education to
U.S. standards.
- You can arrange this independently by contacting a recognized evaluation agency.
- Alternatively, we can assist you in obtaining this evaluation for a small service fee.
Once you’ve passed the screening process and your credentials are evaluated, we will assist
you with obtaining a J1 or H1B visa, depending on the nature of the job and visa requirements.
We’ll connect you with a Visa Sponsor who will guide you through the application, including
documentation such as your DS-2019 form (for J1 visa applicants) or H1B petition.
We will be there to support you every step of the way as you prepare for your visa interview and ensure all U.S. government fees are paid.
Once your visa is approved, we will provide pre-departure assistance, which includes:
- Booking your flights to the U.S.
- Offering pre-departure orientation on housing, budgeting, and transportation.
- Giving you tips on adjusting to life in the U.S.
We will also provide guidance on any additional steps, such as health insurance or required
vaccinations.
Upon your arrival in the U.S., we’ll ensure you have everything you need to settle in, including:
- Airport pickup
- Assistance with applying for a Social Security Number (SSN)
- Setting up a U.S. bank account
- Guidance on obtaining a driver’s license (if applicable)
- Community support and access to cultural programs to help you adjust to your new environment.
